Greetings Friends,

Let's simplify things. Put down your worries for a moment, as well as your schedule and your to-do's. Put down anything from the past or the future and simply take a deep breath in... and out... feel better? Welcome to Gemini Season.

The second decan of Gemini (June 1-10) relates to the Nine of Swords in the tarot, a card that reflects a state of anxiety and overwhelm. In many decks, this card is depicted as someone waking up from a nightmare with nine swords hanging over their head. But in Megan Lynn Kott's Dog Tarot, we see a doggo staring into space. To quote from the guidebook, "Your nervous system is in overdrive and not even treats or a forbidden sit on the couch are comforting."

Like all the nines in the tarot, the Nine of Swords asks us to pause, and reflect on our situation. And because the Swords have to do with the mind, this card asks us to pay particular attention to the stories we tell ourselves. When this card comes up in a reading, it's often a sign that our greatest fears will not come to pass. In this way, it is a gentle wake up call to return to the present and stop cycling through thoughts that cause us discomfort.

Geminis are the comedians of the zodiac, able to find humor in nearly anything, an especially valuable gift during overwhelming times. So this Gemini season, if you feel like a dog in need of a thunder blanket on a sunny afternoon, take a deep breath, come back to the present and rest on the couch as long as want.

with love and simplicity,

Lisa
