Six of Cups & Scorpio Season (Oct. 2026)

Greetings Friends, I invite you to brew up some tea and light a candle. Put on your cozy socks and wrap yourself in your favorite seasonal shawl. In the Northern Hemisphere, the days are getting shorter and we are being called to honor the darkness and return to our inner light. Welcome to Scorpio Season. The second decan of Scorpio (Nov. 1-11) relates to the Six of Cups in the tarot, a card that signals a tender reunion with our inner child. When it comes up in a reading, we are asked to remember a time when we felt utterly safe, loved, and free to play. In So Lazo's exquisitely fun Rainbow Tarot, we see two children surrounded by cups of flowers, with one of them offering the other a cup. In many decks, the children are depicted in a walled off garden or fortress, a sign that their innocence is both honored and encouraged. Ruled by Pluto and Mars, the planets of transformation and action, Scorpio energy is not always associated with our innocence. But as the sign of death and rebirth, a return to the sacred is ultimately what Scorpio is all about. The shedding we experience during this season is of that which no longer serves our soul's purpose or truth. There is a saying that "death is like taking off a too tight shoe." And so, the Six of Cups invites us to go barefoot, reconnecting to the soft soil and sweet memories that truly replenish us, and to the tender protective magic of the heart.
with love and rebirth, Lisa |
