Greetings Friends, Ever feel like if you don't turn it into a joke it will destroy you? Welcome to Gemini Season! After grounding into our being with Taurus, we return to the least boring time of the year. It is the season of the magician, the messenger, of our most fun friend, the one who urges us to learn new things, spill the tea and laugh in the face of the void.  The first decan of Gemini relates to the Eight of Swords in the tarot, a card about the transformation of the mind. In readings, this card reflects the feeling of being trapped in a situation with no way out, the tide rising at our feet. In Chris Adams' delectably playful deck The Mushroom Tarot, we see the swords reimagined as eight Psilocybe mushrooms surrounding a dead tree submerged in water. In the distance stands a ridge line with healthy trees against a backdrop of sparkling stars. It's all in your head, this card teases, breaking the spell of helplessness and nudging us to form a new trail. Part of the magic of Psilocybe mushrooms is that they form new neural pathways in the brain, allowing us to gain an understanding that we were previously blind to. This is why they are called the "Golden Teachers" and "Holy Children," as they reveal to us the answers within. Like Gemini, they are the great connectors, exemplifying the power of a curious mind, a good joke and an unexpected path, when avoiding destruction.
