Six of Pentacles & Taurus Season (April 2026)

Greetings Friends,

As I write this, my cat Baxter sleeps in a sunbeam. He is not one to miss his afternoon nap, post playing and snacks. For when his inner clock tells him it's time to wind down, he listens. In this way, he is my teacher as we enter Taurus Season.

The second decan of Taurus relates to the Six of Wands in the tarot, a card that invites us into physical and financial equilibrium. In many decks, this card is depicted as a wealthy individual handing out coins to the less fortunate, but in Megan Wyreweden's nature based Anima Mundi Tarot, we see an ecosystem of support and exchange. Like all the sixes of the minor arcana, the Six of Pentacles reveals that we are moving from contraction into expansion, that is, a greater state of ease and awareness. 

For some of us, giving can be a challenge, as it brings up fears of not having enough. For others, receiving is hard, as it evokes guilt about not being able to do it all on one's own. But when we view the Six of Pentacles through the lens of the forest, we understand the symbiotic beauty at play. The squirrels eat the tree's acorns, as well as bury them nearby, hilariously forgetting about the majority of them, which leads to more trees.  The birds eat berries and then spread their seeds through elimination, while the trees and mushrooms exchange nutrients for survival.

This is the great teaching of this card, and of Taurus season in general, that when we trust our interconnection, generosity is inevitable. So whether you take your cues from a cat or an oak tree, honor your personal rhythms this month, knowing that they are informed by a vast, brilliant, regenerative system, and then trust the abundance that comes.
